As in the past, this Annual Report is dedicated to important topics in our community. And this year, two such topics. The first of these is the impressive international accomplishments of young people of our islands. Not for nothing have we entiltled this Report "Islas de los Gigantes" (Islands of Giants), the name first given to these islands in 1499 by the Spaniards that discovered them. Such international successes require discipline, dedication, commitment and passion. Societies that produce such youngsters in the field of sports also produce them in other fields of endeavors, of enterprise and of public service, and that promises a bright new future for all our islands. The second subject we wish to draw attention to with this Report is global warming, the need to conserve energy, and the need to protect our environment, even on our beautiful, tropical islands.
